Current Research Trials
Rheumatoid Arthritis
(RA):
Several studies are under way at our Mayfield Village office to test
new biologic therapies for the treatment of moderate to severe RA. The
study drugs are administered by injections; intravenous infusions; or
oral medications at several intervals during the study. Several of the
trials also offer an open label extension that would allow receiving
the study medication for an extended period of time. During these
studies patients are closely monitored and will return to the office
for blood draws and completion of questionnaires. To see if you
qualify for a study you can contact Jennifer at (440) 449-8277 ext.
225 jennifer@dmandelmd.com
or Patricia at (440) 449-8277 X211
patty@dmandelmd.com at the
Mayfield Village office. Qualified participants will receive
study-related medications, medical exams and lab tests at no cost.
If you have any questions about our RA studies or would like more
information please contact one of the study nurses listed above.
Osteoarthritis (O/A):
If you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (OA) of your knee or
hip you may be able to participate in a study for a new pain
medication. The study involves receiving a new study medication along
with approved oral meds if needed. The study meds, labs and exams are
at no cost. You would be required to return to our office for blood
draws and exams. For information on this study and other OA studies
please contact Jennifer at (440) 449-8277 ext. 225 or email at
jennifer@dmandelmd.com
RA or OA PAIN:
We are now participating in a large country-wide study for OA or RA
pain using an FDA Approved oral medication. Participation in the study
will require you to return to our office for blood draws and exams.
For information on this study and other OA studies please contact
Jennifer at (440) 449-8277 ext. 225 or email at
jennifer@dmandelmd.com .
Osteoporosis:
If you have tried standard medications for the treatment of
osteoporosis and have had trouble staying on the medication we now
have a study for a new once a month medication. Participants in the
study are required to return to the Mayfield Village office for blood
draws and exams along with bone density testing. For information on
this study please contact Peggy at (440) 449-8277 ext. 225 or email at
peggy@dmandelmd.com
