Dr. David R. Mandel
Dr.
David R. Mandel is a board certified Rheumatologist in practice for over
28 years. With two office locations, Mayfield Village and Chardon, Dr.
Mandel is able to provide service to patients in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake,
Portage, Trumbull, and Ashtabula Counties as well as patients in Erie and
Sharon ,Pa.
Dr. Mandel received his fellowship from the Department of Rheumatologic
and Immunologic Diseases of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1982 and
immediately began his own practice.
Some of his honors are, founding fellow of the American College of
Rheumatology, member of the American College of Physicians, American
Medical Association-Physician’s Recognition Award, recognized as one of
Cleveland’s outstanding Rheumatologists by the Cleveland Magazine,
received the Outstanding Physician Award from Merck & Co. 1998, founder
of the Prevention Patti Health Walk for Osteoporosis now known as Walk
For Stronger Bones: Nationally recognized annual walk developed to
heighten awareness and education on Osteoporosis.
Dr. Mandel is the author of several articles and publications such as;
Wysenbeek A., Calabrese L., Mandel D., Clough J.: Limited plasmapheresis
in fulminant leukocytoclastic vasculitis. J. Rheum 9:315, 1982,

He and his clinical research division have participated in more than 150
clinical research trials in all areas of arthritis and osteoporosis. Dr.
Mandel’s practice is unique in its diversification which focuses in
clinical care, a center of excellence for the study, diagnosis and
treatment of osteoporosis, and a research department, conducting studies
on a variety of autoimmune diseases. The common thread you will find
throughout Dr. Mandel’s practice is consistent, quality patient care.

| Katy Eichas
is a Physician’s Assistant at the practice of David R. Mandel, M.D.
She completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Science at
Gannon University in Erie, PA. in August 2003. Since graduation, she
has worked in a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation practice
participating in outpatient and inpatient care at St. Vincent’s Health
Center in Erie, PA.
Katy’s time at St. Vincent Health
Center was focused on diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating
patients with various musculoskeletal conditions. She relocated to
Northeast Ohio and joined Dr. David R. Mandel’s practice in July 2004.
She is using her background in musculoskeletal medicine at this
practice to advance her knowledge of rheumatologic conditions. Her
special interests include adolescents with rheumatoid disease and the
use of physical therapies to improve the overall functional status of
patients. |
